Just bought a Big Mac with this, what's my change?

Well it's a START

meanwhile children are still having their limbs blown off, but by all means, PUBLISH LEGAL ADVICE

They can publish all the legal advice they like, if we're still selling them bombs, it's just words.

There's still an inherent contradiction in approach. If this is the beginning of a turnaround, then OK, let's see.

Can someone genuinely explain to me the logic of cutting infrastructure projects when the goal is meant to be economic growth?

At least some of the infrastructure cuts needed to be made. The Stonehenge tunnel, for example, is a silly vanity project which involves archaeological vandalism with a questionable economic upside.

The IFS: There's a huge hole in the public finances which your manifesto isn't accounting for.

Labour: ...

*Three weeks later*

Labour: There's a huge hole in the public finances. Nobody could have seen this coming.

The obvious is a wealth tax, other tax changes such as raising corporation tax and/or adding new bands to income tax.

Borrowing for infrastructure projects is pretty common too.

It looks like there's going to be further nonsense with HS2 rather than recommitting to it.

Some of this absolutely needs cutting. Boris reinstating train lines no one wanted to 'hark back' to a mythical Great British past and the fucking TUNNEL under Stonehenge? No need.

There should be subsidised fetish clothing for all civil servants too!

Very obviously will be a transphobic question about trans women wearing their own clothing in the workplace. This cunt is a massive TERF.

Adding a wealth tax this soon after election would wobble the markets and create a domino effect on the economy far more damaging than saving a couple of billion from greedy corporations

They’ll probably have to do it eventually but timing is everything.

The Stonehenge tunnel was some serious bullshit so that can go in the bin. Typical Tory "OK, we'll build something but only if we can destroy or ruin something else in the doing so".

If HS2 ends up being a high speed line from Crewe to some random spot an hour out from central London... Lol.

It's an absolute mark on the decline of the UK that we can't complete a modern railway line, that links our relatively small island.

Presumably the trip from Old Oak to central London makes the journey time longer than the current train? lol.

this was already known since last year no? I was reading ages ago how funding has not been secured for Old Oak Common to Euston.
