I don't really know (or care) to be honest. Just stirring up gay drama. Maybe we need some more UKMixers in here. How far was it behind first week?

The Fizz's strategy of only selling the physical and download of their new album through their own website and it not being on streaming at all didn't work out too well...
I suspect Radiohead just may have shifted significantly more though. It may have benefitted them financially tho'. Radiohead's most profitable albums were "In Rainbows" and, one of their lowest sellers, "The King Of Limbs" because they handled the initial release through their own channels only. Streaming has absolutely crashed income for bands and artists and directing people away from it is financially viable for any act who wouldn't expect to be in the charts anyway.

Ooh, that is a bit messy. And I see one of them was issued after Jay Aston stood for UKIP so it's not that. The Fizz managed #25 and #29 with their last two studio albums, and the amount of streaming would be negligible.
This time around they have failed to chart even in the sales chart.
Sure, I just think that her numbers being bigger + having more formats will result in an easier number 1 for her.Arctic Monkeys are big on streaming too.
I thought it would be close, probably narrowly on her favour. I just find it odd that no figures are quoted in that initial story, because we all know how the OCC would love to make a huge story out of it.I’d say it’ll be closer than people think. Her albums tend to do about 60-70k or so normally don’t they? I’d say this will be bigger, but physicals do tend to be the main factor in the UK even with great streaming, and I’d say AM still will manage to possibly outdo her on that front, plus they have good streaming, too.
And there we are.If you look at just the most recent release, ’Evermore’ did 72,000 in its first week whereas ‘Tranquility Base Hotel and Casino’ did 86,000.
Not so sure, she doesn't even need that many fans, just hardcore ones that buy all the formatsphysicals do tend to be the main factor in the UK even with great streaming, and I’d say AM still will manage to possibly outdo her on that front
Yes except for the Target editionsAre all those physicals released in the UK?
Are those bonus tracks the same as on the 3am edition on Spotify? The Lavender versions are HMV exclusive in the UK - the deluxe CD with the bonus tracks is sold out on their website.

Evermore was released without physicals though. I think it will be somewhat close, but Taylor will take it.If you look at just the most recent release, ’Evermore’ did 72,000 in its first week whereas ‘Tranquility Base Hotel and Casino’ did 86,000.
I imagine the loons who buy more than four formats (which AM has as well) are infinitesimal... I hope so anywayNot so sure, she doesn't even need that many fans, just hardcore ones that buy all the formats

Amazed this will only her 2nd no.1 single.

Probably fair to say she'd have more if it wasn't for her UK breakthrough coming in the era when single releases were stll being held back to maximise first week sales. US artists used to tend to release globally on day 1 in the itunes era, making it harder to debut at number 1 in the Uk. She was lesser known here around the Red era, so the hits took longer to breakthrough. I expect the sales are far higher than some of the number 1s of that era, possibly for the 1989 hits too.Amazed this will only her 2nd no.1 single.
