While I am enjoying it immensely, isn’t it a bit weird they keep releasing pics of him from jail lol

I keep coming into this thread to be disgusted by you all, conveniently forgetting the conversations me and my gays have over the HOT LOCAL PAEDO who got banged up but has now REEMERGED having done like ten years of BUFF CAUSE YOU CAN ONLY GO TO THE GYM prison time and how we're all convinced he's going to want us FAT, MIDDLE AGED OLD MEN because NO ONE ELSE WILL.

Hmmm, did I just say that out loud? :D

He wants to touch your inner child

Having said all of that above, there's a HORRID irony on the sexualisation of someone whose sexual frustration potentially caused this in the first place.

Reading his manifesto it's as if they were bound to that private health insurance, no alternative mentioned/considered.
So, @Jesus & Mary & Joseph 🎄 is probably the best person here to discuss it, but essentially it's a private healthcare system where people have insurance, hospitals charge for EVERYTHING (including ambulance rides), charge insane prices on the presumption that insurance will cover it (and driving up insurance prices), and then not every hospital accepts every insurer so it gets messy and can result in huge medical debt.

Pretty much.

Typically, if you are under Medicare age, you are either stuck with whatever plan your job offers, Medicaid (if you are low income and qualify) or something from the Obamacare/Affordable Care Act.

In a hospital setting, you are charged for every single thing from the ambulance ride to the grip socks they “give” you at outrageous markups.

Some places like where I work take all insurances, some are selective and some MD offices have went to a cash only option to avoid insurance all together.

The way medical charges vs insurance works here is the medical place (hospital/clinic/etc) have a set price they charge for something and then the insurance has a price cap of what they will pay.

What this causes is the medical place will raise the cost of the charge over what insurance will pay so they receive the maximum dollar amount for it. Then the patient is usually stuck paying the rest. This in turn cause insurance companies to raise premiums for the patient year after year.

Example : when I get my blood drawn to check my A1c (diabetes) the lab charges around $300 each time, my insurance caps at $170 currently so about 4 times a year I have to pay out of pocket the difference.

Do the people get an option to wait for the next available ambulance for free, or is it like you have to pay hiring a private ambulance anyway? Also are the ambulances and hospitals public/state-owned or are they all private?

There are no free ambulance rides that I am aware of. If it’s not a life threatening situation, there are local places that do medical rides but they typically don’t take insurance and charge you $80 to $100 bucks a ride.

If you are laying in the street and bleeding out and they call an ambulance, even if you don’t agree to it, you are still charged. A typical ride will run $500 to $1000 depending on how far it is to the available ER.

***please note I am only aware of my local prices and I assume that big cities it would be much more expensive***

Is that a bad thing?
I mean it depends on what plan your job offers.

Some places will offer bare bone plans that cover next to nothing. The flip side is if you try to get insurance privately you are looking at $800 plus a month to get coverage unless you can quality for the cheaper rate plans (usually all depending on household income)
