Aside from a smallish group of Tory MPs getting a bit antsy, I'm not sure I agree. Boris and his cumboy have gotten this far, I don't think they're willing to let it go now.

I hope they do carry on in fairness, they’re kicking the shite out of themselves with every word. I hope they carry on dragging themselves through the mud, public opinion is finally turning against them.

Probably waiting for this to start dying down and then he will try and fan the flames again. Until then, Boris is doing all the damage entirely on his own, so why not just let him?

Kier doesn’t have to do a thing at the minute, he looks better for not sticking the boot in for the sake of it. He’ll be like a cat playing with a dormouse come PMQs, I can’t wait.

Oh they are absolutely brassing it out but Boris will be perturbed by the fact that his attempt to kill the story didn't work. Cummings, being a sociopath, couldn't give a shit.
 
The trouble with that Napoleon quote is that it was used as a template by Corbyn. It turned out the enemy wasn't making a mistake, they were playing a blinder to the home crowd.

This is different tho'.
 
The bit that gets me is that even if he has to resign, I'm sure there's no way he won't still be involved in the government in SOME fashion (as an 'unpaid' 'consultant' or whatever).

I was looking through the archive of what happened before my time. The argument that Napoleon and Daz Sampson got in about the pronunciation of "scone" was really vicious!

Daz is the only person I know who pronounces it ‘sonky’, mind. Clearly spelling wasn’t one of the things he learnt in school today.

Possibly, but losing his position would affect his security clearance which would (or SHOULD) exclude him from a whole range of meetings and levels of access so he'd definitely be hamstrung, to a greater or lesser degree.

He clearly isn't going anywhere, and the more the media talk about the story it adds fuel to his claims this is dominating press coverage unnecessarily/he's on trial by the media.

Is it a cross-party grilling or just other Tories?

Because unless Lady Miss Keir is going in, I'm not optimistic there'll be much to see.

It’s cross-party I think. Not that it makes much difference. He’ll stutter and waffle his way through this without answering any of the questions put forward.
