Has anyone aside from me bothered? I'm QUITE IMPRESSED after having zero interest in the debut album. "Golden", "Watermelon Sugar", "Cherry", "Fine Line" are my picks but the entire thing is very listenable.

Also his cover of Lizzo's "Juice" is quite something:

I'd love to dismiss her as Marti Pellow on different drugs, but Adore You is rather swanky. I might grab my raft for a quick "stream" later.

Golden and Watermelon Sugar are the best things on the album. The former in particular just radiates melody, warmth and melancholy, it's a fabulous song.

10 Golden
10 Watermelon Sugar
08 Adore You
06 Lights Up
08 Cherry
07 Falling
05 To Be So Lonely
05 She
09 Sunflower Vol 6
07 Canyon Moon
06 Treat People With Kindness
09 Fine Line

It definitely starts stronger than it ends but the bookends are both excellent and it's a beautifully well written and constructed album. Only his vocal sometimes needs to be pushed a bit further in my opinion. He has a great belting register, a bit more use of it wouldn't go amiss.

omg Adore You and Watermelon Sugar are amazing but I still cannot figure how on Earth is this man classified as "sexy":dead:

I haven't listened to the album but Adore You is a really good single and Golden is great too. Adore You in particular could be something that Zayn came up with following on from his first album.

just listening to lights up for the first time. it's very timbaland does blood orange. but there's some mariah in it? and sadly maybe a little ed sheeran too...
overall i think i like it. definitely want to hear it again sober.

Lights Up is a weird first single choice, there's SO much better on here.

See I love Lights Up, and think it works great as an introduction to the project. This Adore You song though seems to be the golden single.

He's really pulling it out the bag this time round. The last one started well and I liked the single but it seemed to only really be a one single project?

Adore You becoming a major hit now

First Hot 100 top ten since his debut single

I much prefer Watermelon Sugar, Golden and Fine Line, but it's a very decent song. Just a bit one-note/a tad too shouty.

and in unexpected news, Stevie Nicks has declared this album the new Rumours.

Is she back on the good powder? Why is she writing in that witchy ass font?

And WHY does the PS. sound like SUCH a threat? :disco:

Tbh, after the years of going around raving about TWILIGHT, I'm more than happy for her to be a Harry Styles stan. At least its not NIALL.

"Watermelon Sugar" video:

It's off to a slow start in America (gaining slowly at radio right outside the top 40). I think "Golden" would've made a slightly better choice if they were going for an uptempo although I enjoy both.

Thing is, Watermelon Sugar (although my favourite of the singles) has already had its moment and has a big number of streams already so I don't see it going much further. This video was in the bank for a good six months I believe

I also think Golden has a better shot (and is his best song) but hey, the album campaign has been pretty flawless and he's had four hits so good for him.

OK well I take back what I said above - Watermelon Sugar reached a new UK peak of 15 this week and is currently 9 on global Spotify. Which is phenomenal for a song that's been out since last year and already had a first top 20 run on the charts back then.

I can't think of a pop girl who's had a campaign as smooth as this one for some time now - the hits just keep coming. I guess Dua is achieving the same. I'm happy to see him get this success though, the album is a big step up and the singles are perfectly chosen so it feels deserved.

I really hope we get a fifth and final single out of Golden though.

Adore You has just matched Sign Of The Times in terms of weeks on chart this week, with 27. And I wouldn't be at all surprised if it stays in the top 75 until the Christmas songs chart.

Adore You is just so good.

It really is.

Does anyone know what happened with the last campaign? Sign of the Times did really well then it seemed like they completely gave up. Did they even commission a 2nd/3rd single with a video or anything?

There was a second single, Kiwi I think? It was rubbish.

The album hasn't left the top ten since it was released. 28 weeks now, with a #3 peak.

I know sales are in the toilet across the board, but compare that with the first album which only had three, despite peaking at #1.

It's been a remarkable consolidation for him, particularly when you look at the fates of his erstwhile bandmates most recent releases. Niall did sneak a #1 position (and its only week in the top ten) by releasing into a much softer week in March, but left the chart a couple of weeks ago. And the others don't really merit mentioning at all.

Do you like it @lolly ? I can see why Queen of Witches Stevie Nicks like it. It's very much a singer-songwriter type of album. It feels contemporary whilst also having a timeless feel to it. I have to say I am really impressed.

It’s no real surprise to anyone that Harry has turned out to be the breakout star, surely?

The rest are just street rats
