Sir Keir's won - are you happy with this outcome?

Defections imminent, apparently.

I hope Rosie Duffield is one of them but she won't be.

Keir has signed the death warrant for Labour in Liverpool for writing an editorial in the S*n

Jesus Christ, who signed off that PR opportunity?

Surely they knew in advance?

Anyway, on The Sun thing, it's not like this hasn't happened before. It's more a surprise that it's still happening now just on the basis that that paper really isn't what it used to be in terms of reach - it should be far more of an open-shut decision than it used to be.

I hope Duffield doesn't swap sides. She might actually keep her seat that way :o

I think more for the fact that he stood IN Liverpool last year during the leadership contest and said he wouldn’t give any interviews to The S*n.

Sir Keith is a fucking joke, a disgrace and highly damaging to an already very damaged and depleted political opposition party which has totally forgotten what and whom it's meant to represent.

just get him the fuck out already. I'd be quite happy with Ed Miliband orchestrating some kind of coup, although he's probably far too lovely for that.

Defections would surprise me (especially to the Conservatives). It always felt far more taboo, for want of a better term, to defect from Labour to the Conservatives (the reverse was not uncommon for a while). Labour members tended to ‘defect’ (and usually then only informally) on leaving parliament altogether rather than try to sit as Conservative MPs. Also the Labour parliamentary party is so relatively small that would seem in and of itself to limit the possibility.

100%. Even the MPs that stood down and endorsed the Tories in 2019 haven't been able to bring themselves to actually join them permanently - they sit as crossbenchers in the Lords.

Exactly this. Labour to Conservative defections seems like the dog that never quite barks.

oh lovely

when is Sir Keir's alleged whipping of the party into shape going to take hold with the voters I wonder? :eyes:

Hopefully he is treated better than he treated POOR, BRAVE, CONSUMPTIVE GERONIMO.

Yvette back on the front bench and in a major position is a good move. She’s intelligent, respected and has that (now somewhat) rare thing in the PLP - name recognition.

They won’t have forgotten to tell Rayner. If she’s been kept out of the loop until today, there will be a good reason.

The relationship between Starmer and Rayner must be absolutely toxic for this ridiculous pissing contest between them to still be going on.
