Eurovision 2022 news (Turin on the 10th-14th May)

Just for the sake of interest:

I don’t know why people having been getting their knickers in a twist over the tickets. I‘d just assumed they’ll be released after the 31st, the day Italy are supposed to be ending all COVID restrictions.

Plus the alternative of getting pissed at the EuroVillage in some piazza in the middle of Turin on a warm summers night for all three shows doesn’t sound bad at all.

Exactly. I’ve seen a lot of comments from loons in the wider fan community proclaiming “IT’S A SCANDAL. WORST YEAR EVER. SAVE US EBU!!!!’.

Just because the UK government (and maybe others) is irresponsible and removed all restrictions, doesn’t mean the Italians should ditch their more cautious approach.

They’re waiting for their removal so they can pack the venue to the rafters rather than sell a meager 2000 tickets and have a sparse looking audience like last year.

The first OGAE fan contest votes are in from France! And the UK opens with a SEVEN :disco:

12 Italy
10 Sweden
08 Netherlands
07 United Kingdom
06 Poland
05 Spain
04 Finland
03 Norway
02 Austria
01 Ukraine
That’s encouraging. I was expecting Sam to flop with the hardcore fans.

The most popular Eurovision website here recently did their poll like every year and guess who won it... correct.*

*Actually Chanel won the poll  but that doesn't count so the 12 points were for the UK.

25 years of hurt never stopped me dreaming etc etc

OGAE Denmark just announced to its members that OGAE ticket packages will start on 5 April.

In previous years, each ticket package has consisted of 6 tickets (3 jury shows and 3 live shows). This year, each OGAE ticket package will consist of just 3 tickets - either for the 3 jury shows OR 3 for the 3 live shows. All tickets included in the OGAE ticket packages are seated tickets, and the seats allocated to OGAE are spread across 3 sections of the venue.

OGAE ticket packages for the live shows are divided into 3 price categories: €550, €700 and €850

OGAE ticket packages for the jury shows are divided into 2 price categories: €170 and €350

How much?! 🤑

Amazing. But it looks like most of the stage is made up of that circular sculpture, with only a tiny triangle for the acts to actually stand on?

It’s not a tiny triangle, the stage takes up about a third of the arena floor (no standing room again) so it should be a decent size.

I hadn't realised it took up so much.

And thinking about it when the rings are all arranged in a flat line that frees up half of the circular area for performers too.
