Surely if that was it the police would have thrown it out and we could all get on with our lives? Or do they have to pass a report to the prosecutor no matter what?

The stuff I read earlier seemed to say that it had to be the prosecutor that dismissed the case, but I think it had been machine translated so I wouldn’t want to guarantee the accuracy of that.

Does Sweden have the same assault laws as the UK? Wouldn’t that be common law assault in England if she (reasonably?) thought she was about to be hit?

In England it would be. I’ve had a flick though their criminal code and their assault definition doesn’t look like it extends to situations where no contact has been made. They have an offence called making an unlawful threat, resulting from where someone threatens a criminal act resulting in serious fear, which is presumably what the charge would be here.

Oh good I was trying to find the answer. Expected Sweden would have something along the same lines.

To think months ago I was convinced they were going to censure Zorra as it wasn't suitable for this family friendly and politically correct show 🤦‍♂️

Good on these people. I hope some of the performers have plans to disrupt tonight. I don’t think you need to disrupt the contest to disrupt the narrative though. Israel upheld their right to compete. The rest of the competition can uphold their right to disagree.

Despite actually being here and thoroughly enjoying a semi (:ken:), after walking around Malmö for hours today, and with everything happening we kind of decided "fuck that", and headed back to our campsite to watch it in peace with a bottle of duty free vodka instead.

It feels like such a RELIEF!

RTP (the Portugal broadcaster) put out a statement that they had requested for a meeting with the EBU because they witnessed harassment towards the Dutch, Greek, Irish and Swiss delegations from the Israel delegation as well.

The best thing about being in Malmö right now is the stupendously divine Swedish police. What a uniform! I've been a stinking sweaty puddle all week!

Currently having dinner over the road and they’ve stuck a MF playlist on

Never Let You Go
I’m In Love
Just call me a SURVIVOR!

:disco:

I’d adopted an Armenian who knows all the words to Effortless

Bury me in YEREVAN
