Vanessa (2025) is a new show starting 24 March, live on 5 at 12:30.

Boldly threatening to end the careers of her rivals (Ruth Langsford said to have slapped her assistant and thrown an Upside Down salad at Colleen), Vanessa will deliver the most hard-sitting, straight-talking and custard-guzzling TV content she's chalked up in years.

Why did she leave BBC? Was it her own choice?
There was a scandal at the time of her BBC chat show that proved that many of her “real story” guests were paid actors, which is obviously an electric chair worthy offence for the BBC (for it to be found out publicly anyhow).

I meant her radio show. She was one of the highest female earners for the BBC I believe.

Loose Women will be pissing themselves hearing how awful this is going in their ear-pieces right now. I'm switching off. Just follow the Wright Stuff formula, it's hardly rocket science.

Oh is it just her taking phone calls from the following minority groups?

  • Anti-vaxer’s
  • Flat earthers
  • Anti-20 minute towners
  • Anti-licence fee’ers
  • Anti-climate changer’ers

Your dedication to Vanessa and Ms Cundy should only be commended though. :disco:

I gave up as had only a certain amount of time before heading to the gym and opted for White Lotus. I'll watch the serving Cundy segment later of course as it's recorded especially.

The wobbly opening monologue though, Vanessa's boredom and irritation at the callers, asking Helen a question she's already asked her just to stop talking to the callers, it was absolutely dire. Feltz is a seasoned journalist - how could she possibly think this was a good format?

They were showing pictures of Helen and Cundy in SEXY and REVEALING outfits and Vanessa was just like oblivious to the topic they were talking about with them both “oh who is this we have pictures of? Is it you Lizzie? You look great. Oh no it’s Helen. You look great too”

Then a woman called in and said she loves it when her husband of 20 years sends her dick pics… even while he’s at work!

I mean I’m guessing no one watched so she shouldn’t feel embarrassed.

Probably quite a good summation of the fate of traditional TV over the past two decades, that the late great Gloria Hunniford had a WHOLE FUCKING OPEN HOUSE w/ studio audience on Channel 5 in the early 00s, and our Vanessa gets two sides of a living room in 2025

Did they interrupt Helen Flanagan's evening?

Wouldn't mind trying the cake on the coffee table apart from the fact it looks like someone pulled and dumped a chunk of it out with their hands.

I guess she'll probably get more money from Channel 5, than she'd get on YouTube, so fair play to her.

I presume she has a podcast, which barely pays the bills.

She is apparently worth 38 mill so I don’t know why she BOTHERS.

:(

Broadcaster Vanessa Feltz's highly anticipated new daytime TV show got off to a disappointing start, with a surprisingly low number of viewers tuning in for its debut episode. The new chat show, which premiered on Channel 5 on Monday, followed Vanessa's departure from This Morning after a 33-year stint.

However, the show's launch failed to meet expectations, with only 83,000 viewers watching the midday program. In contrast, the show preceding Vanessa's, Storm Huntley, drew 154,000 viewers, while Home and Away, which aired immediately after, attracted 157,000 viewers. Meanwhile, on ITV, Loose Women pulled in a significantly larger audience of 686,000 viewers.

It's possible that some viewers were deterred by the show's bold, bright pink set, which featured Vanessa seated on pink sofas surrounded by matching flowers, cushions, curtains, and even cakes. One of her guests, Helen Flanagan, 34, wore a pink bodycon dress, adding to the overwhelming colour scheme.

Solid reporting here from the Mirror. Feels legit that the millions of people who didn't watch were simply put off by the sight of the set they had not seen.

Also fuck me I'd not realised how in the toilet daytime ratings were now. And I know these will only be overnights, but I assume people aren't tuning in to that day's Storm Huntley / Loose Women on catch up.
