Anyway despite how it may be coming across, I'm honestly not some insane J.Lo defender. The movie looks RIDICULOUS and I can't wait to make fun of it. But if we're going to make jokes at her expense can we at least try to find some vaguely fresh ones? Because frankly a lot of it IS misogynistic, hypocritical and really really boring to read.

The fact that her socials get routinely trolled by sad cases still obsessed with the same tired digs doesn't mean Moopy has to sink to the same level.

There is a fanbase from what I've seen, albeit not the biggest or most passionate. It's hard to galvanise people around the concept of being beautiful and having some good songs I suppose. There just isn't much there to latch onto, really.

I don’t have any strong feelings about J.Lo either way but the lack of self awareness and flaunting her celebrity lifestyle would have the potential to inspire ire in some people, I suppose.

Yes, cause THAT’S what it is, rather than an irrational hatred of her by an increasingly select fan group based on an unproved, media provoked CONSPIRACY THEORY which, if it were proved to be true, was probably NOTHING to do with her in the FIRST PLACE, but for which she takes almost ALL the BLAME! :D

I do think moopy has become really quite negative, whiney, whingey and almost mean-spirited in parts lately. I've noticed that tone taking over quite a few threads and sometimes it becomes a bit of a pile-on where every post is YEAH THIS IS SHIT! OH SHE'S A FLOP. SHE'S STILL TRYING, CUTE. DOES SHE HAVE FANS? LEAVING THIS HERE *NO COMMENT*.

like, with all due respect if you don't like JLo or can't find anything non-shady to say about her, why have you posted 10+ times in her thread? don't you have nicer things to say about someone else? I'm sure I do it too, I'm not trying to preach. but the blanket of HEAVY NEGATIVITY in some quarters is quite a bit lately.

The difference between Mopsy and Instagram is that on insta people will spend 17 weeks replying to an argument about nothing, whereas on here we claw each others’ hair out for five minutes because someone said that their favourite pop star wore the wrong dress, and three minutes later we’re bonding over the new Girls Aloud gold plated anniversary reissue album with bonus cassette tape and magic eye poster

To make it clear, I couldn’t give two hoots about whether someone thinks J Lo can sing or whatever it was people were banging on about. Everyone’s got an opinion and is more than free to share it.

It would just be nice to go through a music thread and actually find the new music rather than post after post of the same old shite, seemingly from people with an axe to grind (against pop stars they’ve never met?). It’s all just a bit negative and boring and UKMIX type shit.
