Alas, no. Even the majority of people on MadonnaNation are post-Dotmusic at the point...@Suedey are you still in contact with any of the old loons?
Yes and it was exactly that sort of behaviour that prompted me from stepping down as moderator a while ago. I barely post there now.Wow MadonnaNation have topic titles such as:
VILEY MINOGUE
MILEY VIRUS
PARIAH CAREY

JENNIFER HOPEZ
DUA SLEEPA
HATEY PERRY
CELINE PEE-ON
Is that largely due to the Dua duet?

From the OCC chart rulesDoes the UK chart allocate any of her streams to her GH albums? I know in the States certain streams will automatically be credited to a GH, rather than the parent album, in many cases. The effects seems arbitrary but I'm sure there is some rhyme or reason to it. The Weeknd's GH has floated around the top 10 and 20 for the better part of a year, for example, but probably sold a total of 40k pure sales because of this. I don't know if that's also favoring certain artists in the UK that aren't Madonna.
Hmm I guess this is somewhat inconsequential for most artists unless they are streaming powerhouses who happen to have a GH, like the Weeknd or Maroon 5. TIC and Celebration not being listed probably has more to do with Warner not aggressively pressing or discounting them. From the OCC chart rules
Where a track appears on more than one album by an artist, streams of this track will be attributed equally to each studio album and a maximum of one greatest hits album (the hits title with the highest sales DUS for that given week, or other hits title nominated in advance by label)
I am hopeful that this will be the start of a proper certification update campaign now that she is back with Warner and her 40th anniversary is coming up etc. Especially in the USA.
Yeah I guess I was mostly referring to the USA where she is rather undercertified and there was no incentive from Warner to encourage her and her management to update them during her Interscope (wilderness) yearsFair for the US, but UK certs are automatic - doesn’t matter who she is with or whether it is wanted or not, each week any breaching the threshold are done.
But this doesn’t explain why Madonna/First Album and LAV are undercertified in the UK though? Unless I’m mistakenFair for the US, but UK certs are automatic - doesn’t matter who she is with or whether it is wanted or not, each week any breaching the threshold are done.
The Immaculate Collection has been certified 13x Platinum in the UKWhat happened? It’s blank for me
I see lots of posts on ukmix regarding various acts where albums are evidently undercertified. For whatever reason I don't think the automatic certification always happens. But this doesn’t explain why Madonna and LAV are undercertified in the Uk though? Unless I’m mistaken
Pre I think like 1994 or a few years before was different certification levels and a slightly different compiler or something, which can sometimes get in the way. Also they used multipliers back then as they didn’t count every sale, and occasionally these get weighted up or down. But this doesn’t explain why Madonna and LAV are undercertified in the Uk though?
