Female World Leaders

What happens if she doesn’t get a majority? Löfven stays on?

We hate her now cause the Covid situation here is more disastrous than ever.

It happened. Our first female PM, Magdalena Andersson. :sweden:

and ironically she will have to rule with the budget of the opposition. Her own budget will be turned down later today.

Even Veep didn’t feature such a shit show. :D

Poor Magda, but she’ll be back with vengence next week and this time it will be without the fucking Green party.

There was a vote about the budget right after she was elected last week, the proposed budget was voted down, meaning that the Government would have to rule with the opposition budget. This made the coalition party (the Greens) leave the Government… which in turn meant that there was no Government anymore and therefore they had to vote again today and now the Socialists will govern alone (but are dependent on three other parties) with Magdalena as PM.

I see
Well I don’t really, how did they lose the vote? Isn’t the point of a brand new coalition that you have a majority to get stuff moving? Or does the budget need a bigger majority?

They’re not brand new, we haven’t had any elections she’s only replacing the former PM. In a PM vote you musn’t have a majority against you, in a budget vote it’s the one that gets the most votes that win. There are parties that have let her become PM but opposed her budget.

Are the Sweden Democrats part of the problem? I can’t imagine anyone wanting to become PM on the back of their support, but it seems a budget is now fair game.

That’s pretty much all that it is about. We now have two different groups of parties; one that are willing to cooperate with the Sweden Democrats and presented a joint budget (that won). And the other group (that includes parties that don’t tolerate each other) are determined on exluding the Sweden Democrats as far as possible. It’s the differences within the second group that make the country next to impossible to govern now.

Sorry I just woke up so my eyes aren’t quite clear - is that Ginny Lemon or Veronica Green? Which thread is this?
