I like it in that it is the best thing on the album aside from "Goodbye" (which doesn't really count). But it's just so LOW ENERGY, especially for them. If they wanted to go the R&B route with Darkchild, they should've gone something more in the vein of "He Wasn't Man Enough" or "If You Had My Love".

I think Melanie B mentions that they were sort of aware that they were being given cast-offs by the American producers, who would then lock themselves away during/after sessions to produce something new for Britney or Justin or whomever.

There’s a basic Darkchild song on JLo’s first album that I really loved back in the day and that would have suited the girls (although I love JLo’s nasal vocals).

Was Melanie B the only one who subsequently worked with Darkchild and Jam & Lewis after Forever? I remember Darkchild praising Emma but, maybe she was too white for him to work on something?

They could have thrown a couple of cute bops at her for the debut and maybe Victoria, if she had dropped the whole "cool" attitude, could have kept something that worked in favor of her wafer-thin vocals.
