Could you turn the track down a little, please?

OMG @monsta I did not know that Je M'Appelle was supposed to be for Michelle McManus :D

Listening to this album now and it's still a blindingly good pop album

Boris end lockdown

the case is closed :disco:

Biden? Black and trans lives matter? A cure for covid? Jo's got a job at her local Indian? NO!

It's all about ME!

Rachel Stevens was the most gorgeous piece of ass in 2004, I realise this is redundant to you guys but trust me, for us teens, she provided years of wank fodder.

That said, this was utterly forgettable and so was she by 2005. I liked Some Girls (and the video), nothing more.

I’m not sure if nowoco is saying we’re OLD, GAY or BOTH

we’ll be young forever

Don't have the energy to re-listen and rate but "Crazy Boys", "I Will Be There", " Secret Garden" are my keepers. "Secret Garden" is particularly SULTRY. Love the singles too, obv.

I Will Be There is at the top with the best of class of 2005, a truly wonderful year of pop.

Were Queen and Nothing In Common the only outtakes?

It's a shame she didn't just lump on LA Ex and a radio Vertigo edit of Funky Dory whilst she was at it, not that official tracklistings matter these days.

So is the scream Rachel or could it really be Annie Lennox from I Need A Man? I personally think the Vertigo DJ should have saved it for the Holly V remix instead.

QUEEN OF EVERYTHING

I haven't listened to Come and Get It in many years as it's not on streaming where I am, and I'm reluctant to seek it out in case it's not the stone cold classique of my teenage memory.

FUNNY HOW, however, is a definite 10.

I have 2 CD copies but need a vinyl

she was very mismanaged - launching an album off the back of Sweet Dreams and then following up with Funky Dory? the random cover of More More More (which is not BAD by the way)? by the time her second album came along nobody cared other than approx 10k gays. but then she never exactly seemed PASSIONATE about being a popstar anyway, so.

wasn't Kylie's Made of Glass originally written for/recorded by Rachel?

"Funky Dory" the song was definitely a misfire. Other than that, I'm not sure she was so poorly mismanaged other than a bit late to the game. She waited too long to start her solo career, I think. I love Come & Get It but the fact that it came out in 2005 is... JARRING. If Holly Valance couldn't succeed in 2003, Rachel Stevens certainly wasn't years later.

Let's face it. Come & Get It is a good album but she just AIN'T a star, hence her rapid career fizzle.

I saw her live around this album release when she switched on the Leeds Christmas lights (GLAMOUR). It was one of the most boring experiences of my life.

QUEEN OF POP

13

this album is getting me through this tedious Monday Morning

Poor Rach is bland as a slice of white bread but she can sell a song
:disco:

Waiting Game is missing in action from Spotify :(

As is this remix - wrong album but BANGER (in a very of its time way):
