All three (so far) singles are great. But this will be her, 21st week at #1 this week? Across three singles, all with 5+ weeks? Ridiculous really. I assume Ed Sheeran is the only other time we’ve had this kind of domination for such a period?

Yes she’s definitely the new Ed Sheeran. So ubiquitous the other half of the world is starting to hate her already.
 
As of now, I don't have any interest in being a super stan or paying to see her live, but I'm absolutely fine living in a world where she's the biggest pop star.
 
I'm not sure she's quite at the point of having a Pavlovian reflex resentment with much of the public just yet - but she's clearly just a step or two away from that if she doesn't take a break soon / has a PR flub
 
She'd have to something pretty hideous to turn general listeners away from her.

Also, why do I feel like Ariana Grande would hate her? Their sound is so similar to me, but Sabrina's is the more timeless.

she is wonderful. of course the GP will turn at some point, but she's nowhere near that. I haven't come across a single negative tweet about her, even, there's nothing brewing. she just seems REALLY FUN, witty and fabulous without really trying.

of course the curse of Xtina will strike some day soon and then she'll bomb to oblivion for the remainder of her career :eyes:
 
I've only heard the story from that waitress on TikTok, but you're always gonna get stray stories here and there I guess.

Her association with that thing was the closest I came to thinking "uhm".
 
I know this will be an unpopular opinion but she has so much more natural charisma than Dua Lipa (I'm not a hater before anyone pounces).

Nope, just the Twitter engagement trolls of the type I named/parodied who decided Chappell Roan was evil. Carpenter's time with them will come because it's what they do.
 
I feel so bad for Chappell. I'm not exactly a fan, but the girl deserved better than a predatory industry and psychotic 'fans'.

This is so obviously true that the only reason it's an unpopular opinion is because it's just making a dig at Dua Lipa for the sake of it.

I thought about this last night when Taste appeared on my Spotify.

I don't think it's very likely she'll release something in these two last months of 2024. I guess they'll wait until early January so it doesn't get lost in the shuffle. Another possible scenario would be a new song from a re-release.
