I like the slight flickers of Freak Like Me video, but mostly the Top Shop vampirism of Run for Cover and Keishababe's Round Round pleats. Oh and Mutya's Hole In The Head or else covid era "oops I forgot my mask" moments. Video is very slick.

Who are the Victor Meldrews that voted this a 7. That's like rating Mi Chico Latino a 7 and kind of a banning offence

I can't wait to see them at the o2 in April. their one off gig there last time was such a great moment and vibe, one of the best atmospheres

The O2 seems sold out, which is great, but I wonder if they’ve put the upper blocks on sale

Let’s hope they keep the momentum up and we get more singles and an album please!

Nope! Wasn’t really expected to, the streams aren’t anywhere near charting levels

it’s got 650K streams already - that seems like a success?

The truth is that the charts simply don’t matter anymore - I couldn’t tell you a single chart stat from the past 5 years. It’s just archaic and actually a bit embarrassing to even be on the charts imo

It is doing well yeah! I also think it’s not completely out of the question that it might become a SONG OF THE SUMMA and chart eventually.

By the way, they’ve said they have more singles coming but that the album won’t be finished until after the tour

It's easy to say 'the charts don't matter any more' as you age and what is in it is less relevant to you, but at some point things DID change, didn't they? Because I don't think they matter particularly any more even to the younger people who the singles chart should matter to.

I don't necessarily agree with embarrassing, but I do agree with archaic.

I seem to remember After The Rain getting really poor streams so it’s outpacing that at least.

streaming numbers are good for them, I hope it gets a bit more exposure in terms of airplay/TV though

Streaming really. I mean, they hadn't been big business for a while at the time it came in, but if I had to pinpoint it to a time it was probably around about when they had to start stepping in to stop the top 10 just being all the tracks from a big new album release. At that point it was pretty obvious the culture was just becoming very, very siloed.

But I wonder, if streaming had exploded in the mid 90s, would a similar thing have happened and Oasis would’ve just been continuously at #1 for 3 years with most of the wonderful pop and dance music of the era being pushed out? I suspect so.

The absolute chokehold that this song has on me, I've barely listened to anything else all week

It's put me in such a Sugababes mood that I just watched Ugly at Glastonbury 24 and nearly shed a tear

the way these women insist on ageing backwards...

they're doing Jungle in a medley it seems, Stronger also in there

I happened to finish watching something and caught most of it. Thought the arrangement got a bit overblown towards the end but the vocals were there and Mutya sounded especially good on her verse.

I assume Jungle is on later and doesn't get the prime time exposure.
