The United Kingdom: The RISHI RICH Sunak ERA

I wouldn’t put too much stock into how a website uses an algorithm to calculate seat changes at a hypothetical election

A lot of setting up Labour with things starting and ending in 2025/6, especially extending the freeze on alcohol duty to Feb 2025 which, to me absolutely confirms an autumn election with lots of bullshit about how much a pint will cost under Labour i.e. "£8 A PINT UNDER LABOUR'S WOKE SPENDING PLANS" and when you read the article, it's a small batch IPA that already costs £7.90.

Also, "new rules" for non-dom status is giving "absolutely full of get out clauses".

MAD LIZ still looking safe though. :( At this point she might end up back in charge of whatever remains of the Conservative party by DEFAULT.

bimbo liz may THINK she'll retain control of the northfolk, but you never know how things might turn in east angular.

Have we not covered the latest scandal with the Tory’s favourite GAMMON donor being unsurprisingly racist?

It’s not exactly a shock, but again the way this has been handled is just a shambles. They tried to sell it off as “offensive but not racist” and have now had to backtrack because they waited until an actual black person in their party (in this case Kemi) called it out for what it is

they’re a fucking embarrassment.

I bet they don’t give him his money back.

He sounds like an absolute cunt and everything thats wrong with the Tories.

Man gets contract from mate man makes fortune, man donates to tories.

I hope the next leadership strip him of his contract.

He's clearly an out and out racist with an egotistic complex*, the rules in the workplace sound borderline torturous. Shocks me what people will put up with for a paycheck.

*Wouldn't be surprised to find out he's a sex pest next too. He just looks like the sort.

His reviews on Glassdoor are brutal. There was a Twitter thread with some of them and he does sound like a classic Tory prick, almost cartoonishly so.

The current defence being wheeled out by whichever minister doing the rounds today is: He said something objectively racist. I don't know him, but he has apologised. Therefore, I do not think he is a racist.

So yes, they're unlikely to give the money back because they're going to rationalise that you can say something racist, apologise, and that's ok, and therefore not a racist. Plus, he does business in Jamaica, so he can't possibly be racist.

Perhaps Rishi should get on a train roof together with the rest of the Indians?

The Tories are despicable.

JUST BECAUSE HE'S SAID LOADS OF RACIST THINGS DOESN'T MEAN HES RACIST

This is the constant line, isn't it? Stop judging people on the things they do and say because that's not how you establish what kind of person someone is, you find out what kind of person someone is by how much money they have.

I’ve never been a fan of Diane but the abuse this woman has put up with pretty much her entire career is absolutely disgusting. It shows yet again another underlying racist problem in this country that everyone is quick to deny and dismiss, and therefore unwilling to acknowledge, understand and tackle. It never fucking changes.

I can only imagine the fear that a black female socialist strikes in the minds of gammons. That cunts comments are just a symbol of what they’re all thinking.

She certainly doesn't look 70. Given the shift she's had, she could be forgiven for having Prince Philip levels of physical decay.

Classic Empire thinking. Non-whites are fine as long as they "know their place". MP is not among the acceptable roles. She's supposed to be getting abuse in a call centre or serving food in a restaurant, not representing a constituency, despite that constituency voting for her using the existing democratic process.
The faintest whiff of a meritocracy is what frightens these people, because they know they would not have thrived in one in the way that they have. It's the classic dichotomy; consider the way immigration from Ireland is discussed in Scotland; Irish people are simultaneously 'thick' and 'taking all our jobs' - bit of a self-own to admit that someone you describe as 'thick' can have your job in a heartbeat, eh?

Not a good look, I agree.

However, asking her a question would have been against convension and he'd have got roasted for it if he did given his recent history. So you can see why he didn't allow it.

I don't agree with his decision but I'm not going to chastise him for it.

On Wednesday, there were 11 opposition MPs and four Conservative MPs in the 15 listed on the order paper.

To ensure he alternated between picking MPs from both sides, Sir Lindsay called seven Tory MPs not listed.

Liberal Democrat leader Sir Ed Davey was also called to ask a question, with three Labour MPs on the original list of 15 missing out.

Just catching up on this now.

I think I kind of dismissed it because "Tory is sexist and racist" was hardly a revelation.

But I see he's only called it rude. It was fucking KKK shit. The Tories digging in their heals to keep that dwindling base is fucking pathetic.

So it's fine to break convention when it suits labour, but not when it doesn't?

He’s been given a clear message by a majority of the Commons not to break any more conventions.
Well I'm glad that he silenced the black woman who was the centre of multiple questions in the chamber to follow convention.

Great Speakership.
