How is BOB BLACKMAN a real person?

I don't think anyone ever answered this, but I'm pretty sure it was Ian Duncan Smith's fault.

The exit poll really didn't know what to do with independents, so had him down as a 99% chance to lose his seat iirc. So when he ends up winning relatively comfortably, the model would assume that a bunch more Tories were incorrect, whereas in actual fact it was down to independents.

Once more seats came in that matched what the original exit poll was saying, it was then reverted

That was quite the joy for me. I went to bed thinking the Tories were going to end up on 160+, and woke up to them getting a quarter less :disco:

They’re not losing blue collar votes to the Greens or Lib Dems! It’s all Reform.
There are quite specific areas where they are losing to independents and greens as well, but that’s mostly a single issue (Gaza) and not driven by class or income.

Agreed. They are specific instances.

Thangam on Channel 4 news saying that she got a commiserations text from Keir on Friday morning, but he never learned to spell her name correctly.

I love this and also it is very clear that I do not live in the Lib Dem heartlands because I had never in my life heard of Gail's before now. :basil:

There isn't even a Gail's in Harrogate, the only Lib Dem seat in Yorkshire.

How does it compare to PUMPKINS?

The Lib Dems throwing everything at a relatively small number of seats was a genius move but, of course, very similar the Greens and Reform who did the same but at scale.

One opened here reasonably recently (in one of the most affluent areas), and there's been a few campaigns to boycott them in favour of local indies instead.

The Lib Dem would have finished last in that seat, had it not been for Kellie-Jay Keen.

But you know us, we literally RIOT over a Tesco Express in the same seat.
