Nothing wrong with our penalty.Makes me feel better about the iffy penalty
My entire relationship with football has been painful, supporting a fallen team, watching an ever frustrating sequence of England disappointments, but for once I actually believe something is possible.
I agree. It's easy to criticise and focus on the moments that the Netherlands managed to break through, but overall, England commanded that game. There was a dip in the middle but there was for the Netherlands too.England were easily the better team today. I say that without listening to English commentary (from what I can pick up, the German commentary agrees). Yes the Dutch had a few moments and when they were attacking, they were far more direct and ambitious, but those moments were few.
Quite funny that Starmer will get the boost in the national mood out of this.Rishi Sunak, mid May: "I mean, by that time England will be in the quarter finals and the national mood will be amazing, it'll really boost us!"
Rishi Sunak, 30th June, 17:30 GMT: "oh shit".
