From what I’ve heard, which as always may be complete bollocks, it’s Stockholm Friends Arena.
 
Also how realistic a possibility is it that Petra WON'T be able to host, as outlined in this seemingly quite insane person's opening post? I loved her so much.

I presume she won't be hosting if for no other reason than because she's just given BIRTH in the last year or two, hasn't she?

Plus, it's not as if there isn't a surfeit of potential new talent they couldn't bring through the wings. A team of Sarah Dawn Finer, Farah Abadi (or a glorious return to public prominence for Gina Dirawi), Oscar Zia and Tone Sekelius would both be more than able and JUST THE TICKET frankly.
 
It is QUITE THE TREAT.

I wonder if they could get a lady ABBA involved, even in some small way.

Obviously one of many exciting elements :disco:

Sanna is a lovely lass but no thanks - where is the personality? I’d only take it if we can have Sarah Dawn Finer (sans Woodruff garb) there too. Farah has put in the hours to deserve a shout also.

I thought Sanna did a good job when she hosted Melfest. She’s funnier than you’d expect.

Obviously would love Sarah Dawn Finer too, and she has a lot of friends among the likely production team so I imagine she’d be very likely to get involved.

Gina Dirawi would also be great.
 
Sanna would have to lean in hard to the sort of vibe she pulled off screaming "IT DOESN'T MEAN I'M A PROSTITUTE!" during her En Vogue interval that one time, but I wouldn't be ENTIRELY AGAINST IT :disco:

Oscar Zia was pretty poor when he presented Melodifestivalen last year. Totally out of his depth at live presenting.

It was far too much for him to handle on his own at his age, but I suspect it would've been pretty formative and useful experience, and he's been pretty excellent before as part of ensemble hosting gigs.
 
Sanna is an excellent host - very personable and actually really funny. She’s great on Allsang På Skansen.

However, I would totally be up for Pernilla Wahlgren and Per Andersson, just to recreate this interval sketch frame by frame

This is one of my favourite pieces of comedy. Just amazing.

The reason people keep saying Petra won’t host is because she’s defected to Sweden’s version of ITV. Even if she doesn’t have a golden handcuffs deal, I imagine SVT would probably prefer to showcase their own talent.

Yes, but it's more than that. She also had to cancel her hosting duties of Strictly Come Dancing mid March on said channel because of terrible back pain.

Now, if one were of a conspiratorial mind one could see that as her hearing gossip of Loreen's imminent purge and instinctively jumping the gun...
 
Rumours inside production are they strongly prefer the cheapest options to lower strains on an already tight 2024 budget. That gives Stockholm an edge in the bidding process.
 
According to SVT, Sweden has only three options for Eurovision; Friends and Tele2 arenas in Stockholm and Ullevi in Gothenburg. Best and cheapest seems to be Tele2.
 
Regarding presenters, in order of significance:
  1. Petra Mede: Back destroyed, tied to ITV.
  2. Måns: Would do it.
  3. Gina: Quit presenting, hated by Israel.
  4. Tone Sekelius: Tied down to TV3.
  5. Sanna: Actively campaigning for it.
  6. Finer: SVT seems to prefer Sanna.
  7. Wahlgren: Tied to Kanal 5 but not as a presenter and would find a way.
  8. DJ Trexx: Would do it.
  9. David Hellenius: Tied down to ITV.
  10. Meltzer: At Kanal 5, but not as a presenter.
  11. Carina Berg: Tied down to Kanal 5.
  12. Anis Don Demina: Would do it.
  13. Per Andersson: Would do it.
  14. Lina Hedlund: Would do it.
  15. Henrik Dorsin: Would do it.
  16. Alexandra Pascalidou: Long shot.
  17. Malena Ernman: Long shot.
