This is what i’ve said for the whole length of time i’ve been a fan - as long as a country is in it, they could win it. It is then down to the EBU to deal with the shitshow of the contest being in the likes of Israel, or previously Russia. It’s not worth the fucking risk.

And that’s before you even get into the politics of Israel wanting to host and the EBU saying no. What do Israel’s allies like UK and Germany do then? Pull out with them?

Exactly, a 40% among 15 countries is madness, and not even a large group of people can't do that in a country like Italy. The fact that this leaked and every one will be aware by tomorrow will encourage every single pro-Israel person to vote on Saturday. They will probably win the televote with an insane number.

Taking Ukraine as a benchmark, if they meet that, 439 points requires one hell of a scuppering. The UK only got 466 points total that year.
