The United Kingdom: The RISHI RICH Sunak ERA (9 Viewers)

(This was in a (health spa not gay) sauna where I was slagging her off and one of the other people said "I know her actually". I stopped, shrugged and carried on. The perils of being a local MP :D )

"It was a real surprise when James Cleverly walked up Downing Street, just moments after news broke that Suella Braverman had been sacked.

The clichéd choreography of reshuffles would suggest that means Cleverly is replacing her.

But it means he, in turn, would have to be replaced as foreign secretary.

That points to a much broader shakeup of the government today."

Christ, Cleverly is pretty much just as bad.

I didn't realise they could just pick ANY OLD HACK without them being an elected MP to serve in the cabinet.

Does this happen often and I've missed it?

Beth Rigby says John Glen MP (who?!) is likely to be new Home Sec

I'm sure Johnson did it. Mind you, anything rule-bending and/or cronyist you can guess that Johnson did it and you'll be odds-on.

David Cameron is such a mic drop the moment.

The journalists whispering 'what the hell' :D

Rumoured Foreign Sec?

Can ex pms be cabinet ministers anyway or will he need fast tracked into the Lord's?
He’d need to be made a lord. I can’t recall if we’ve had a great office of state in the Lords since Lord Carrington in the early 1980s. It seems like a clever move though.

I guess it does draw attention to how little barrel there is left to scrape. I guess Sunak could argue that Ukraine/Israel requires an experienced minister - but it still a shocking indictment of a government that’s been in place for 13 years.

I guess we’ve had a former PM as foreign minister before. Alec Douglas Home was one.

"I know, let's bring in the bloke who fucked off whistling as soon as the going got tough"

*awaits the "Cleverly chosen" headlines*

Glad the fascist thundercunt is gone. Part of me was thinking it'd be good for her to stay so that the public can see the Tories' true colours front and centre come election time, but another part of me was equally concerned that the public would be perfectly happy to stroll into an era of full fascism and think she's great and "just saying what everyone else is thinking" and all the rest of the Facebook comments section stuff.

I'm sure appointing an unelected failure will do wonders for their popularity.

Which cloud are they living on?
I mean, let's be real - hideously as Cameron's premiership ended, he was widely liked by the electorate and had appeal to moderates so if Rishi wants to get out of the grip of the party's hard right wing and give the Tories any kind of shot at a GE, this could be a very smart appointment. also, he was somewhat politically capable, unlike any of the other chancer nobodies who could've been given Foreign Sec in this reshuffle. it's an interesting roll of the dice if nothing else.
