That letter from Suella is scathing but for different reasons than she is going for. Naturally, I didn't WANT Sunak to support any of her stupid bumbling plans, but the fact that he even put her in in the first place, when he almost certainly doesn't support her plans was clearly an allowance to the ERG that he was never going to back - so really he's just shown himself to be a massively weak fake. I guess we already knew all this, but it's just even clearer to see now.

The reason that you'd need to change the law and/or not be part of the ECHR is because your ideas are disgusting and immoral. If you're trying to break human rights conventions, then you need to have a long hard look at who you are.

Seeing Esther McVey referred to as the minister for common sense is killing me a little bit.

What world are we living in?!? How is the barrel being scraped so raw?

I actually thought the McVey post was going to be a parody story when I started to read it on Twitter but alas no.

this whole story is really giving us some excellent journalism if nothing else - Owen Jones kills it here, that concluding paragraph is it

in all the clownery and the circus of government and in the very differing personalities (all shit) of our last several PMs, it can be pretty easy to forget that there's a through line of evil and Braverman is really just a symptom of it (and a warning sign).

Isn't it about time we referred to her as SUE ELLEN as a matter of course, too?

This party has fallen so far. How can such fucking morons end up as MPs.

Is the Tory whip WORTH ANYTHING at this point? There are all losing their seats ANYWAY, especially anyone in a vaguely liberal area.

Regardless of what you think of the Tories, their conscious decision to burn an electable centre-right party, arguably the most successful electoral machine in the western world, to the ground is rather something to behold. And for WHAT? Lee Anderson and Ashfield?

Because they're only listening to the press. Tory policy has become dictated by a handful of exceptionally rich sociopaths.
