Shall we be BRIEFLY ON TOPIC?

Police are now involved

I love how Dutch kinda makes sense to an English speaker if you just pretend you’ve had a mild stroke.

Check list so far:

✅ Israel situation
✅ Netherlands situation
✅ Rai leaking semi 2 televote
✅ Voting issues
Someone turns with a blackface to announce their jury vote tomorrow
One of the cubes collapses
Asteroid hits Malmö
Petra's back issues remerge after carrying the whole contest on it

Latvia was on course to win the jury vote I the mock voting so I bailed.

I’ve just thought. What if Israel get any twelves and the spokepersons refuse to announce it? Or they wave a Palestine flag etc? It wouldn’t surprise me if something happens. I know that Hatari got into trouble before but they never actually did anything.

10 minutes to the ROW voting opens. No statement from the EBU.

The countdown went to zero and the voting didn’t open. Yet another fuck up.

I said no one had a flop but the one person that gave me "Oh this sounds strained" was Slimane? But then again, he is so far from the mic when it matters, it's tough to say in the arena.

Woken up to literally no news which is just unacceptable. This article seemed to suggested he will be performing but it's since been removed:

It’s going to be one of the tensest voting sequences ever for all the wrong reasons.

Israel are going to win the televote by a mile, aren’t they?

I suspect so - to some extent this is the point I have tried to make this week. Most people are going to be both apolitical (or at the very least split on the issue) and casual viewers of Eurovision. Audible booing of a young woman is not going to look good to many televoters.

To compare the last two years

2022
Ukraine Televote - 439 (1st)
Ukraine Jury - 192 (4th)

United Kingdom Jury - 283 (1st)
United Kingdom Televote - 183 (5th)

2023
Sweden Jury - 340 (1st)
Sweden Televote - 243 (2nd)

Finland Televote - 376 (1st)
Finland Jury - 150 (4th)

If the juries place Israel in the top five it’s likely game over. There would need to be a very strong jury winner who also delivered a commanding televote score.

I reckon Switzerland might actually have the better shot of slipping past them than Croatia.

I still maintain the juries will save us. There will be an anti- Israel sentiment at least somewhere there and the jury system of ranking the songs means that there is effectively the chance to vote “against” in a way there isn’t for televoting.
