MOTHERFESTIVALEN 2023: Deltävling 4 (Malmö) - ft. Lorraine (sp?)

To be fair this outfit isn't very practical. She should have brought a handbag like her previous performance.

She doesn't need a handbag, she's got knickers and strings.

I have visions of her narrowly losing the final to Maria or the twinks, but what is going to stop her from going direkt AT LEAST?

I'm very excited naturally, but I can't help but feel this thread is heading towards classic disaster territory... :D

This is DISSENT and it must be CRUSHED

To be fair, it’s not just on Moopy this is happening. It’s everywhere. I haven’t seen such a huge reaction about a Eurovision song since, well, Euphoria. If this does fail to win MF it will probably be the biggest shock in national final history.

It’s also proving almost impossible for me not to accidentally hear the clip of Tattoo since it’s inescapable. I’m going to have to stay off social media until 7pm Saturday I think. I need my first time listening to the song to be the live performance on the show.

I keep thinking about why the hysteria is this much this time around when it wasn’t in 2006 or 2008- both with previous winners, amazing songs that blew us away.

Is it cause this year we’ve been STARVED? Or just different times?

I can still see, like @VoR said earlier, this all come crashing down, though. Albeit in the final- Maria feels like she is not going to be an easy walkover.

Loreesus and Smash Into Pieces look like EVENT TELEVISION from the performance snippets. Mariette looks potentially great but the camerawork feels like it needs a bit of polish, and Axel is worryingly competent.

Has anyone even heard the whole song yet? I love the hype and hysteria the Swedish songs always get but you all always manage to give me high hopes and then they’re crushed, so I always take the hype with a big pinch of salt.

This reminds me of when our other MOTHER Queen Kylie gave us a snipet of the All The Lovers video and we recreated the whole thing before it came out. We KNEW something big was coming :disco:

Yes, the entire press has seen the full rehearsal. At the end of the song "Loreen is singing the chorus over the melody of the verses and it just somehow comes together".

For the first time in ages I don't think Sweden will just be able to replicate their Melfest staging at Eurovision, I can't see them allowing that enormous sandwich toaster.

Wonder if they've still got Sakis' stapler lying around?

Of course they are, it's all Swedes working backstage anyways.

You think BBC could produce something like ESC by themselves? :basil:

The snippet is very promising, everything indeed looks great but as said by some journalists not much seems to be happening when using the more stationary cameras. Team Loreen needs to work on adding intrigue through utilizing the handheld steadycams to greater effect!

People were calling her the winner in November based on a photograph. That is her POWER. These are the same people who refused to vote for her to win ESC 250 saying her time was over. :basil:

Does anyone here know the inner workings of the BBC by the way? Is it a company that knows their own limits and brings in outside expertise where needed?
