love that she's in that phase of her career where everything is just SO MUCH FUN

Both PPP and Espresso get resets, giving her the top three this week - first female artist ever to do it. Also second biggest album opening of the year, behind Taylor.

Jesus.

Crazy that she got the whole top 3, that's an amazing achievement in this day and age.

Amazing achievement for a supposedly highly saturated pop star, whose music is so custom designed for a coffee shop playlist, I couldn't hum any of them.

I totally get that for the latest two, though I like them. But Espresso is a pop behemoth and rightly put her into the A grade.

It's probably the only album post-2020 other than Tension that I've listened a) all the way through and b) more than once.

I feel this says a lot about YOU and nothing at all about POP :D congrats?

It wasn’t intended to be a comment on pop music in general. I’m definitely of an age where my interest in consuming new stuff is low-to-non-existent, beyond perhaps the odd track here and there.

However, there’s something about her as a pop star and her music that works. She’s not revolutionary as far as I can tell, but the songs are well written and credibly current in an accessibly mainstream way.

Agreed.

I like the odd song by Chappell or Charli or whoever is cool, but Sabrina has been the only one to fully appeal to my straight up pop sensibilities in a long time.

I think the story of her career until this album is pretty fascinating. She looks like she's basically done the whole gamut.

The whole top three. Again. Espresso still #3 on Spotify :D

I love it, but Christ this domination really is something else.

I mean look at the stats…she blew him out the water and is clearly the most consumed album of the week. Fuck off with your whining.

I think he is projected to drop like 95% this week, while Sabrina has a relatively soft drop and is expected to remain at #1 with 155k. Not exactly a compelling scenario for him!

Just popped in to say I can’t bear those two songs she’s had out for a while that have been everywhere, but I really like this newer one “Taste”, that took me by surprise.

As you were!

I think Taste is by far the weakest of the three teebs. it's catchy and fun but a bit nothingy to me. the album has much better to offer.

Taste has that Americana / adult pop vibe that I like. The other two are a bit bubblegum quirky for me. I see the appeal though.
